Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile instruments for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts before and after procedures.
- Monitor patients' vitals and report any changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Sanitize and sterilize surgical equipment according to strict hospital protocols.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room safely.
- Organize and stock surgical supplies to ensure efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift patients/machinery.
- Valid California RN license or equivalent certification.
