Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize patient acuity using ESI protocols and clinical judgment
- Direct emergency department workflows during peak volumes and critical incidents
- Mentor junior nursing staff and implement evidence-based triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate patient care pathways
- Utilize advanced telehealth systems for remote patient assessments
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy and patient flow
- Maintain precise documentation and compliance with HIPAA/JCAHO standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years ED/urgent care triage experience
- Active WA RN license with BSN or higher
- ENPC or TNCC certification required
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric emergency assessment (PEARS)
- Demonstrated expertise in ESI 5-level triage systems
- Experience with Epic EMR and telehealth platforms
- Proven ability to mentor and train nursing staff
- Exceptional communication and de-escalation skills
