Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize emergency cases using ESI and START protocols
- Collaborate with physicians to develop immediate care plans for critical patients
- Mentor and train triage team members on advanced assessment techniques
- Implement quality improvement initiatives for patient flow and wait time reduction
- Document cases accurately in Epic EMR while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Participate in disaster preparedness drills and emergency response activations
- Conduct interdisciplinary case reviews to enhance triage accuracy
Qualifications
- Active RN license in California with 5+ years emergency/trauma experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
- BSN or MSN degree with Emergency Nursing certification (CEN) preferred
- Proven expertise in ESI and START triage methodologies
- Exceptional critical thinking and rapid decision-making abilities
- Experience mentoring nursing staff and developing training materials
- Strong proficiency in Epic EMR and telehealth triage systems
