Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Oversee triage operations for 50+ daily patient encounters
- Collaborate with physicians to prioritize critical cases
- Implement evidence-based triage protocols for pediatric/adult populations
- Train junior staff on Ochsner's triage methodologies
- Document encounters in Epic EHR with 99% accuracy
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for patient flow
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Louisiana (required)
- 3+ years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- ESI triage certification preferred
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with Epic EMR systems
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Spanish bilingual skills a plus
