Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity levels using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Coordinate with ER physicians and specialists for critical case prioritization
- Implement telemedicine triage solutions for remote patient consultations
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with zero-error documentation
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for triage efficiency
- Mentor junior nursing staff on advanced assessment techniques
- Participate in hospital disaster response planning
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (TX RN)
- 5+ years ER or urgent care experience with 2+ years in triage
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and telemedicine platforms
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- Spanish fluency required for bilingual patient care
- Experience with ESI 5-level triage implementation
