Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary care teams for high-acuity cases
- Implement telehealth triage solutions for remote patient monitoring
- Develop and optimize departmental triage protocols
- Mentor junior nursing staff on critical decision-making
- Collaborate with EMS on patient transport prioritization
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for triage efficiency
Qualifications
- BSN or higher in Nursing (MSN preferred)
- 5+ years ER/trauma nursing experience
- Current Maryland RN license (Compact eligible)
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Expertise in ESI level 1-3 triage protocols
- Experience with Epic EMR triage modules
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends
