Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using ESI (Emergency Severity Index)
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists for rapid patient dispositionMaintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Oversee nursing triage team during peak hours
- Develop and implement triage protocols aligned with JCAHO standards
- Provide clinical guidance to junior triage staff
- Participate in emergency response drills and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency/trauma nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Triage certification (ENA or equivalent)
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
- Strong triage assessment skills with high-volume ER experience
- Exceptional communication and crisis management abilities
