Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics.
- Communicate patient status changes to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician, following all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and visitors.
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the state of Indiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and transfer patients up to 50 lbs.
