Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and pharmaceutical products under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records with precision
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage
- Ensure strict compliance with FDA, DEA, and state pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medication safety protocols
- Excellent attention to detail with proven accuracy in prescription processing
- Proficient in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days
