Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict OSHA compliance
- Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and patient comfort
- Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and handle insurance verification
- Provide chairside assistance with suctioning, material handling, and infection control
- Deliver post-op instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Maintain accurate digital patient records and assist with billing processes
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification (DA, RDA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography (X-ray) techniques
- Strong knowledge of sterilization protocols and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Experience with Eaglesoft or DentalWorks practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
