Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange sterile fields according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile environments throughout surgical procedures
- Count and account for all surgical instruments and sponges
- Prepare patients for surgery and position them appropriately
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment including cameras and monitors
- Document all perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
