Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including cameras, monitors, and robotic systems
- Manage inventory and sterilization of all surgical instruments
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety protocols
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain equipment calibration and functionality checks
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 2 years of acute care surgical experience
- BLS certification from AHA
- Proficiency with surgical equipment (scopes, cameras, power tools)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in high-pressure environments
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
