Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment according to OSHA standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument handling and equipment management
- Maintain sterile fields and monitor operating room inventory
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for coordinated patient care
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Operate advanced surgical technologies including robotic-assisted systems
- Conduct post-operative equipment sterilization and storage protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- Proficiency with surgical equipment sterilization and maintenance
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Kentucky state surgical tech license (or eligible)
