Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment according to procedure protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environment and enforce safety standards in operating rooms
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments following strict infection control protocols
- Document equipment inventory and maintenance requirements
- Collaborate with team to ensure efficient room turnover between cases
- Train on new surgical technologies and equipment as implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience in general surgery
- Knowledge of sterile processing and equipment sterilization methods
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment (provided)
- BLS certification and willingness to obtain additional certifications
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy and procedure protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function in high-pressure environments
