Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments using advanced equipment
- Assist surgeons with instrument handling and equipment operation during procedures
- Manage sterilization processes for reusable instruments and equipment
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Document equipment usage and inventory in electronic health records
- Maintain precise counts of surgical supplies and instruments
- Train on new surgical technologies as implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
- Proficiency with advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopes)
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/ANSI)
- BLS certification and ability to maintain it
- Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
