Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up sterile fields, and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and managing sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile environments per OSHA and AORN standards throughout surgical procedures
- Handle surgical equipment maintenance and calibration documentation
- Inventory and organize specialized instruments and implants
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 1+ years of recent OR experience in general surgery, orthopedics, or urology
- Proficiency with laparoscopic and robotic surgical systems
- Strong knowledge of sterilization protocols (Steam, Steris, ETO)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
