Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment and instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, reordering as needed
- Operate specialized surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA and AORN safety protocols
- Coordinate with sterile processing department for equipment maintenance
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub tech experience in general surgery
- Proficiency with advanced surgical equipment including robotics and endoscopy
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and equipment maintenance protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Pass background check and drug screening
