Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
- Monitor and maintain strict aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure.
- Handle specimens accurately and transport patients safely to and from the operating room.
- Document patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy, sterile technique, and instrument handling.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
