Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Monitor patient vital signs and alert the medical team of any changes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and surgical logs.
- Ensure the sterile field is maintained throughout surgical procedures.
- Handle and dispose of surgical specimens properly.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required.
