Responsibilities
- Preparation: Set up operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for surgical procedures.
- Assistance: Pass instruments and materials to surgeons and other members of the surgical team during operations.
- Sterility: Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Patient Care: Monitor patient vital signs and provide comfort and support to patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient data, surgical procedures, and equipment used.
- Stock Management: Monitor and restock surgical supplies and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment when necessary.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
