Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies promptly and accurately.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and monitor the sterile field throughout the surgical procedure.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure no items are left behind.
- Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, including sterilizing skin sites.
- Assist with patient transport to and from the operating room and recovery areas.
- Document patient data and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credentials.
- Active, unencumbered Arizona Surgical Technology license.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, sterile technique, and sterilization processes.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the surgical team.
