Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies, and ensuring that all operating room lights, suction equipment, and other equipment functions properly.
- Assist surgeons during operations by handing them instruments and materials, maintaining a sterile field, and counting sponges and needles.
- Monitor operating room supplies and equipment to ensure availability during procedures.
- Adjust lights and suction equipment as needed to ensure optimal visibility and patient safety.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification as a Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
