Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgeries
- Transport patients to surgical suites and position them correctly
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory in sterile processing departments
- Document procedural information accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique skills
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
