Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, equipment, and sutures before surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile goods.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and sterilization protocols to prevent infection.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records during surgical procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and communicate changes in patient condition to the surgical team.
- Position patients on the operating table and create surgical skin prep sites.
- Document and inventory surgical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification required.
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
