Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are sterile and ready for use.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain a safe sterile field.
- Position patients on the operating table and properly drape them for procedures.
- Transcribe physician orders and maintain accurate medical records.
- Handle specimen processing and transport according to strict safety protocols.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations within the operating suite.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certification eligible (NCCT/CNBC).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical anatomy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a diverse team.
