Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Document procedural supplies and equipment usage
- Transport patients and specimens safely within the surgical unit
- Participate in continuing education and skill development
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Commitment to completing certification program within 6 months
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Valid Alaska driver's license preferred
- Background check and drug screen required
