Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and suturing under guidance
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to strict infection control protocols
- Count and document surgical supplies/instruments before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between operating rooms and recovery areas
- Participate in continuous education and skill development programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (will provide training)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25-50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality and patient privacy
