Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and manage restocking protocols
- Document patient care activities and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and AORN safety standards
- Train on new surgical technologies and techniques quarterly
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in general or specialty surgery
- BLS certification with current CPR credentials
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical equipment maintenance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
