Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, setting up sterile fields, and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies as needed
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical procedures
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries to ensure completeness
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms while maintaining comfort and safety
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and restock operating rooms efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in acute care setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and operating room protocols
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations
