Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
- Monitor the operating room environment to ensure safety and adherence to protocols.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to strict guidelines.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room as needed.
- Document patient data and maintain detailed surgical logs.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Valid Texas RN license (if applicable to role) or equivalent state certification.
