Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in emergency settings, including assessment, treatment, and stabilization
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Document clinical observations and interventions accurately in electronic health records
- Educate patients and families on health conditions and discharge instructions
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and JCAHO standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency preparedness drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas (or compact license)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years ED experience considered)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 1-2 years acute care nursing experience (ED preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and emergency assessment skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EPIC experience preferred)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
