Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and equipment management
- Maintain sterile environments and implement infection control measures
- Handle surgical specimens for proper processing and documentation
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation across specialties
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique adherence
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed
