Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and equipment before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms safely
- Ensure proper sterilization and decontamination of equipment
- Document procedural activities accurately in patient records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail in high-pressure environments
- Valid Arizona surgical tech license
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
