Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and equipment functionality during operations
- Ensure proper sterilization and disposal of biohazardous materials
- Document surgical cases accurately and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent operating room experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong attention to detail and crisis management skills
- Valid North Carolina surgical tech license
