Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sponges and counting sponges, needles, and instruments.
- Maintain a sterile environment to prevent infection by following strict aseptic techniques.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Monitor the vital signs of patients under anesthesia and report any abnormalities.
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain patient records.
- Clean and sterilize medical equipment and instruments after use.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST or LTS) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
