Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory with precision
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and infection control protocols
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless surgical workflows
- Maintain equipment calibration and readiness for complex cases
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Expertise in orthopedic, neuro, and general surgical procedures
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (EPIC preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of sterile processing standards
- Ability to handle high-pressure emergency cases with composure
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
