Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during complex surgical procedures with precise instrument handling
- Prepare sterile fields and operating rooms according to strict aseptic protocols
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment with zero-defect accuracy
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless case flow
- Implement infection prevention protocols to maintain OSHA/JCAHO compliance
- Document procedures with meticulous attention to detail in EMR systems
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in sterile processing and sterilization validation
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and surgical terminology
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced emergency scenarios
- Strong communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
