Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields for surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count and track surgical instruments before and after procedures
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms
- Operate sterilization equipment and manage biohazardous waste
- Document all surgical activities and maintain accurate records
Qualifications
- Completion of accredited surgical technology program or equivalent certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of hospital OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
