Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle specimens and surgical materials according to hospital policies
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedures accurately and maintain equipment inventory
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Accredited surgical technology program certification (CST preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience in general surgery
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization methods
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
