Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and document surgical case details
- Manage surgical inventory and ensure compliance with OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesiologists to optimize surgical workflows
- Handle biohazardous materials and sharps disposal protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in general surgery
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
- BLS certification and current CPR training
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to stand 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and crisis management skills
