Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies following strict aseptic protocols
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Operate advanced surgical technology including endoscopic equipment and robotic systems
- Monitor inventory levels and order surgical supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations
- Adhere to OSHA and Joint Commission standards for equipment safety and infection control
- Document equipment usage and maintenance in compliance with hospital policies
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical setting
- Proficiency in operating electrosurgical units, endoscopic cameras, and power instruments
- Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment maintenance protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Current BLS certification and willingness to obtain additional facility-specific credentials
