Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and government programs (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for rejected claims
- Conduct insurance verification and patient eligibility checks
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and revenue metrics
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance for all patient data
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical or hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or NextGen)
- Strong understanding of insurance claim processes and regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
