Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment, arranging instruments, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, holding retractors, and managing sterile fields
- Maintain accurate inventory of surgical supplies and restock operating rooms as needed
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA safety standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery
- Document procedure details and equipment usage in electronic health records
- Participate in continuous training to stay updated on surgical techniques and technologies
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- Proficiency in sterile processing and equipment sterilization methods
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedural protocols
- Ability to maintain composure in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
