Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
  • Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and checking equipment functionality.
  • Maintain sterile environments by preparing, sterilizing, and disassembling equipment.
  • Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
  • Transport patients to and from the operating room with safety and care.
  • Ensure patient safety by adhering to strict sterile field protocols.
  • Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.

Qualifications

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) by the NBSTSA.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting (preferred).
