Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and account for all surgical supplies before/during/after procedures
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them for surgery
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
- Document all procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care OR experience
- Proficiency in sterile processing protocols and HIPAA compliance
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation for multiple specialties
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
