Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor and handle surgical specimens as requested by the surgeon.
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols to prevent infection.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-surgery to ensure zero loss.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room with care and precision.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Scrub Tech (CST) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for long durations and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
