Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments and equipment as per surgeon specifications
- Maintain sterile fields during surgical procedures and monitor equipment functionality
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Handle sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments per hospital protocols
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage accurately
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless surgical workflow
- Participate in equipment maintenance checks and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital or outpatient setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical equipment handling
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends/on-call
