Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment with meticulous attention to detail
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Operate advanced surgical technology including endoscopic and robotic systems
- Manage inventory and restock supplies in operating rooms and sterile processing areas
- Adhere to strict OSHA and AORN safety protocols for equipment handling
- Document equipment usage and maintenance in electronic health records
- Train on new surgical technologies as they're implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
- Proficiency in handling laparoscopic and power equipment
- Knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Valid BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
