Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is sterile and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies in a timely manner.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and monitor for breaches in sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and skin preparation.
- Document patient data and surgical procedures accurately.
- Clean, disinfect, and organize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of a military program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of surgical anatomy and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-stress environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
