Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and equipment management
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced surgical technology (robotics, endoscopes)
- Perform sterilization and processing of reusable instruments per standards
- Inventory and manage surgical supply/equipment par levels
- Document procedural events and equipment usage accurately
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and AORN regulations
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- 2+ years of recent operating room experience
- Proficiency with surgical equipment (robotics, power tools, endoscopes)
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
